VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently looking for volunteers for the roles below. If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with us or join one of our Friday morning coffees to chat about how you can get involved.

Project Coordinator:  

Pusakas

(Elderly food kitchens)

Many elderly individuals in Jakarta do not have the financial means to buy basic items like food and often don’t have relatives that can take care of them. ANZA supports four pusakas on a monthly basis with a financial contribution towards meals that get prepared on-site. The ladies come to the pusaka to collect their food and enjoy spending time there for some social interaction and relaxation. 

Time to visit the pusakas once a month and spend time with the group.

Project Coordinator:

Sayap Ibu Playgroup

ANZA runs a weekly playgroup for children from the Sayap Ibu Orphanage. The children love playing at the house and splashing in the kiddies pool and also receive a meal at the house.

(Tuesdays 09:00 - 12:00)

Project Coordinator:

Kampung Kids

Kampung Kids is an educational centre for pre-school kids, where they attend pre-school classes taught by an Indonesian teacher, as well as English classes taught by expat volunteers. 

We need someone who can coordinate the volunteers and help with ad-hoc initiatives and donations throughout the year.

Flexible time to coordinate volunteers for the weekly classes

English Teacher:

Kampung Kids

Kampung Kids is an educational centre for pre-school kids, where they attend pre-school classes taught by an Indonesian teacher, as well as English classes taught by expat volunteers. We need volunteer teachers to conduct (very basic) English sessions with the kids. 

Mondays or Thursdays from 09:00 - 10:00

Time to teach a one-hour English class on a weekly basis. 

English Teacher: 

Puspita

The children at Puspita would love to improve their English. Some already speak to a reasonable standard and some are very shy. They like to play games and talk about sport and their dreams for the future.

Time to visit and play, practice English with the children.


English Teacher: 

Rawinala

Rawinala is a school for the blind and multi-disabled. It was the first school of its kind in Indonesia and is very good. They are also looking for an English teacher who can help to teach the teachers (beginner level). The school is near Halim airport and is easy to get to.

Time to teach English(beginner level).

English Teacher:

Nurani Insani

Nurani Insani: This is a school for street children in Slipi. They are also looking for a teacher but the school is very hot and the children may not always be very well behaved (they are street kids is they are not used to desks, chairs etc) so it will require someone with fortitude. 

Time to teach English to middle and high school kids.

Admin and  Events:

Student Sponsorship

Help with admin and can play a supportive role to our Student Sponsorship Programme with event organising and other ad-hoc tasks

Time to help organise and attend events

Secretary:    

ANZA SW Committee

Supporting the ANZA Social Welfare Committee with coordinating meetings, taking minutes, correspondence with new members, organising and updating social welfare files and documentation, etc.

Attend monthly meetings; remote admin

General Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to visit projects and help out at events.
