There are so many advantages to learning a second language including brain health and deeper cultural understanding. Many of our members will attest that life in Jakarta runs a lot smoother when you develop your Bahasa Indonesia skills.

These classes are aimed at complete beginners to give you practical language skills including:

  • Indonesian Alphabet and Pronunciation
  • Indonesian question words and how to build sentences using them
  • Indonesian numbers for numbering, money, time
  • Asking and giving directions
  • Ordering food at a restaurant
  • Shopping and bargaining
  • Prohibiting and giving orders

Kick start your Bahasa Indonesia journey in these fun, engaging lessons with a small group of fellow beginners. 


When: 11:00am - 12:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays for 5weeks

19, 21, 26, 28 February 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 March

Cost: IDR 2,200,000 per person for 10 sessions payable by Thursday 14 February 2019

Who is the tutor?

Ibu Restiany Achmad is a highly regarded Bahasa Indonesia teacher and has been teaching expats in group and private lessons for a number of years (including many ANZA members). She is also the author of several Bahasa Indonesia language books. Participants are in good hands with Ibu Restiany.

How many will be in the class?

There is a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 participants.

If there are more people interested then we can schedule classes at a different time and/or dates.

Where will the classes be held?

In the meeting room at ANZA House

What if I can't attend all dates?

What do I need to bring to class?

Please bring your preferred items for note taking.

Course materials are provided.

ANZA cafe is open if you wish to purchase food or drink.
